Synopsis
A juvenile delinquent and petty thief is caught by the police with a 15-year-old girl in the rear seat of his car and arrested for statutory rape. He feels that he has been unjustly accused since the girl had consented but had not revealed her age. Nevertheless, he is sentenced to 2 1/2 to 5 years in Southern Michigan Prison. To alleviate the tension he creates among the other convicts, he is allowed to care for the garden of the sympathetic warden and falls in love with his daughter. The warden discovers their relationship and transfers the young man to chauffeuring outside the prison. After a prison riot is quelled, a prisoner whom he is driving overpowers the guard, and the youth escapes. He goes to the warden's daughter but voluntarily returns to prison when she promises to wait for him.
