Synopsis

After 12 years at a London veterinary college, Jimmy Fox-Upton passes his final examinations. His rival, the unscrupulous Bob Skeffington, cheats to qualify, then sets up a shady practice in London's wealthy upper Belgravia. Bob caters to the pets of affluent owners, while Jimmy opens an animal clinic in lower Belgravia, a poor district. Jimmy chases a chimpanzee belonging to stage entertainer Sally Huxley into a ladies' Turkish bath and is fined for disorderly conduct. Later he attends to a burn the chimp has received and becomes friendly with Sally. The unsuspecting Jimmy helps Bob Skeffington and Peddle (a crooked dealer) export horses across the English Channel until he learns that the horses are going to French butchers; and with the assistance of Sally and R. S. P. C. A. Inspector Primrose Gudgeon, Jimmy exposes the racket. His rewards are Sally's affection and a telephone call, presumably from the Palace.
