Synopsis

While vacationing in Tangiers, American businessman Stephen Armstrong and his Danish wife, Marie, befriend a young man, Fernando, who believes his missing fiancée, Diane, has been abducted and taken to the city's red light district. Fernando eventually learns that Diane is a captive in the House of 1,000 Dolls, a brothel run by Felix Manderville and Rebecca, illusionists who use their magic act to drug and overpower young women for an international ring of white slavers. When Fernando attempts to rescue Diane, the brothel's manageress, Madame Viera, has him killed. In an effort to uncover Fernando's murderer, Stephen misguidedly confides in Manderville. While Stephen is lured away on a false trail and involved with Moroccan Police Inspector Emil, Manderville and Rebecca abduct Marie. Her efforts to escape with Diane and Lisa, another captive, fail, but Stephen bargains for her freedom by promising Rebecca that he will help her and Manderville to obtain immunity. When Manderville wrongly suspects that Rebecca is about to betray him, however, he storms the house with his thugs; and a battle with the captives breaks out. Manderville plummets to his death in a fight with Stephen. Rebecca's pleas for immunity are ignored; Inspector Emil informs Stephen that she was actually behind the scheme.
