Synopsis

Vic Arnold, a middle-aged Manhattan millionaire, brings H. P. Bancroft, a childhood chum, all the way from South Bend in order for H. P. to be best man at his wedding to Beth Calhoun, a beautiful young woman half his age. Learning that Beth's father has received $200,000 from Vic and that Beth's brother is on Vic's payroll, H. P. quickly comes to the conclusion that Beth and her family are interested only in Vic's money; H. P. insults Beth in front of her parents, and she breaks off the engagement. H. P. later learns that he was wrong in his estimation of Beth's motives, and he reunites Beth and Vic, who again invite him to be best man.
