Synopsis
During their twenty-eight year rivalry, Whitney High School has never won a football game with Fairview High School. The rivalry is so intense that the local teen canteen has a separate section for students from each school. Whitney student and football player Freddie Tremble is rehearsing the other students in a musical football routine to be performed on the day of the big charity bazaar after the Whitney-Fairview game. When professor Owen Townley learns that Mayor Whitehead is bringing Governor Huffington to the game, he cancels the show, however, because the mayor prefers to offer the governor professional entertainment. Townley asks Freddie to pass the news on to the other students, and Freddie's girl friend, Dodie Rogers, mistakenly blames Freddie for the cancellation. When she learns the truth, she rushes off to Whitney's football practice to apologize to him. Freddie is on the field when she arrives, but this does not stop her. She chases after Freddie, and with the help of her interference, he makes a touchdown. This gives Freddie and his friend, Lee Watson, the idea to dress her up in a uniform and sneak her into the Fairview game. In return, Lee promises that if Dodie participates in the scheme, Freddie will get the school show rescheduled. Then Lee suggests that they ask orchestra leader Jan Savitt to perform at the bazaar. While they are waiting to see Savitt, Freddie sings a sentimental ballad and impresses Savitt's singer, Chi-Chi. Chi-Chi is attracted to Freddie and promises to introduce him to Savitt if he returns the following night. Freddie and Lee are seen at the club by Fairview students Roy and Jimmy, who has a crush on Dodie. Hoping to discredit Freddie, Jimmy tells Dodie's sister Betty who, as the editor of the school paper, is always looking for a scoop. The next night, Chi-Chi asks Freddie to help her rehearse a romantic scene, and Betty and her photographer catch them in the middle of a kiss. Then Dodie is found in the locker room as she changes out of Lee's football uniform and Betty publishes both pictures in the school paper. The students are scolded for their behavior and, on behalf of the others, Betty apologizes and begs Huffington to stay for the bazaar. During the football game, Dodie suggests that the Whitney team confuse the Fairview players by using the formations from the football number that they rehearsed. She then asks Savitt, who is at the game, if he will perform with them at the bazaar and he agrees. After Whitney wins the game, Savitt's orchestra plays and the students perform their routine. Chi Chi sells kisses for charity and Dodie and Freddie are reconciled.

Notes
Cast credits were incomplete on the viewed print. As the Variety review noted, a number of name brand products were mentioned in the film, including Capitol Records, Koret Fashions and Royal Crown Cola. This was an unusual practice for the time.
