Synopsis
Mac and Griff, two Americans serving in the French Foreign Legion, are friendly rivals until they meet Marie, a cabaret entertainer in the oasis of Bel-Abbas; but they become bitter enemies when Marie favors Griff. During an encounter with Riffs, Mac is shot by a sniper and believes his former pal to be responsible; but Griff refuses to leave him in the desert and is sentenced to Devil's Island for refusing to obey orders. When Mac is discharged, she marries him and persuades him to serve as a guard on Devil's Island so as to be near Griff. Mac, planning revenge, pretends to aid Griff's escape with Marie, but he learns, too late, that his friend did not shoot him; disguised as Griff, he is killed by the prison guards, while Marie and Griff safely escape.
