Synopsis

After a full-blown jazz party, "Vee" Newell, a headstrong, society-mad girl, bids her invalid grandfather adieu before going on to the country club, where Tivvie and Rann get into a fight over her. Returning home later with a jazz band, Vee realizes that her grandfather has died and hysterically drives the crowd from the house. Her grandfather's will provides that she will inherit all his estate if she gives up parties, cocktails, cigarettes, rouge, and lipstick and attends church regularly every Sunday for 6 months. She accepts the challenge and attends church the following Sunday, where she meets young attorney Marshall Jones, who walks her home. An accident at a society bazaar makes her realize that she loves Marshall, but when he refuses her, Vee decides to resume her life of dissipation with her former sweetheart; Marshall then forcibly removes her from a roadhouse, and they are married. Vee learns that she is to receive the inheritance after all, the restrictions having been a test planned by her grandfather.
