Synopsis
Isabelle teaches German in a suburban high school. As a substitute teacher, she goes wherever she is needed. Bruno is a petty criminal who specializes in break-ins and car thefts. This routine quickly comes to an end when Isabelle is hit by a car in front of the cafe where Bruno's having lunch. Bruno hesitates whether to steal her wristwatch or simply help her. Just as he takes Isabelle's wrist to take her watch, she regains consciousness. This brief physical contact sparks a mutual attraction. Very soon, they are in love. However, Bruno doesn't desire to settle down in the usual sense. He continues his life of petty crime. Soon, the law catches up to him and he takes flight with Isabelle. Far from the reach of the police and the law, the couple gives free reign to their feelings for one another, as though time no longer existed. How long their idllyic existence will last becomes the looming question.
