Synopsis

Professional gambler Dan Crown arrives in San Juan to visit his brother Alex, only to learn from police chief Captain Acosta that Alex has been found murdered. To Acosta's questioning Dan answers that he had no knowledge of his brother's affairs. Dan then finds Gina Rosario searching his hotel room, and together they begin to investigate Alex's death. Dan receives an invitation from Cardinal, a wealthy importer who is apparently looking for something belonging to Alex. Dan learns from a priest that Alex had visited a church on the day he died. A clue in the form of a Saint Francis medal leads Dan and Gina to a church statue of Saint Francis, behind which they find a large uncut diamond Alex had smuggled to Puerto Rico. He leaves the diamond there and is followed and attacked by Cardinal's henchmen; but Gina leads the police to Cardinal, and Dan is rescued.
