Synopsis

After many homes and families are destroyed by floods, Phineas Flagg, crooked owner of the Paradise Land Syndicate, offers ranches to the refugees with no money down. The Three Mesquiteers, Lullaby Joslin, Stony Brook and Tucson Smith, sell their land to Flagg hoping to help the settlers, only to discover he has purchased the land at two dollars per acre, but plans to sell it for fifty dollars per acre to the government. The Mesquiteers try to warn the settlers of Flagg's deceit, but they continue to place their trust in him. The settlers create the Three-Score and Ten township and improve the land. When a surveyor deems the land condemned, the Mesquiteers purchase the Warren ranch so the government will not be able to deal solely with Flagg. Two settlers, Williams and Warren, are kidnapped, and the ransom demanded is the deed to Warren's land. Tucson and Stony leave the deed in the appointed place, and Warren is sent back nearly dead. Just before he dies, he reveals the link between Flagg and Williams. In order to entrap Flagg and his men, the Mesquiteers pretend to take Warren to the hospital and lead Flagg's men directly into an ambush by the townspeople. The Mesquiteers capture Flagg and Williams and arrest them. In the meantime, a romance has grown between Stony and Warren's daughter Marian, despite competition from Tucson.
