Synopsis

The miners of Boom Town are being menaced by a murderous gang of claim jumpers who kill only after the prospector has made his strike. The gang is known as the "Ceegaret Gang" because of their practice of leaving the intended victim with a death threat inscribed on cigarette paper. When Tex Roberts and his partner Slim strike pay dirt, Prader and Morg, two outlaws, try to steal their claim by planting evidence that Tex is Ceegaret, the leader of the gang. The frame-up works and Tex is arrested and jailed. The gang then plots to eliminate Tex by blowing up the jail, but he and Slim escape in the explosion. They take refuge in a cave, where they meet Rawls, the sole survivor of a murder attempt by the gang, and consequently, the one man who can identify the killer. By a ruse, Tex convinces Rawls to return to town, where he identifies Prader as the killer. Tex then discovers that Prader is in league with the county clerk who, for a cut of the profits, has been forging the miners' signatures to approved bills of sale. With the real Ceegaret exposed, the gang is brought to justice and calm returns to the miners of Boom Town.
