Synopsis

Jack Bauer returns from college and immediately begins to organize the workers in his father's fruit cannery into an Industrial Democracy, thereby precipitating a strike. Jack's father, in debt to the bank for $25,000, seems on the edge of financial ruin until he receives an order from Craig, a financier, for a large consignment of canned goods; Bauer then finds out that Craig is insolvent, having recently escaped from a mental hospital. Deprived of the expected payroll, the workers riot. Craig reappears, however, and exhibits court papers that prove him to be both sane and solvent. Bauer's business is saved, and Jack resumes his courtship with Marion Kruger, the daughter of the factory foreman.
