Synopsis

Grip Mason, who is seeking revenge for the death of his brother, hires a saloon girl named Nina to seduce Bud Collins as a way to make trouble for Bud's brother, Sheriff Tim Collins. Bud falls in love with Nina, but when she makes a pass at Tim, Bud holds his brother responsible and joins Grip's gang. He is then held captive and beaten by gang member Dutch Charley. When Tim tries to rescue his brother, Bud is killed and Tim searches for evidence in Nina's room, where he discovers newspaper clippings that prove that Grip's secret identity is "The Shadow." Tim ambushes the masked villain and jails him. Leaving Grip with the assistant sheriff, Hoppy, Tim rides to the Lyman ranch, where he explains his actions to his girl friend, Judith, who was jealous when she saw him in Nina's room. Meanwhile, Nina frees Grip, who double-crosses her and locks her in jail with Hoppy. When Judith arrives at the jail to meet Tim, Nina informs on Grip, disclosing his plans to rob the express office and kill Tim. Judith rides to warn Tim, while her uncle John calls for help. Tim stops the robbery, and after a heroic chase, arrests Grip. With the criminals behind bars, Tim is free to marry Judith.
