Synopsis

About how corporate-driven American agricultural policies co-opted our food system and how alternative growers and their local, sustainable and delicious foods are taking it back. We go back to World War II to understand our country's initial tendency toward corporate-owned, mass-produced goods, and examine how this trend has ultimately landed the United States in the unhealthy state it is in today. From there, we hear from legendary chefs who spearheaded the California movement towards local and organic foods. In the end, we discover that all we have to lose is heart disease, obesity and wealthy corporate middlemen.
