Synopsis

Douglas Stratton and Patricia Mason, secretly married, are preparing for bed when unsuccessful suitor Rodney Hall disturbs them by climbing through the window. A struggle follows; Rodney is killed; and Douglas is sentenced to die in the electric chair. It is revealed that Paul Palmer, son of the governor and nephew of the prison warden, actually killed Rodney and is remaining silent, hoping to marry Patricia when Douglas is out of the way. The warden, protective of his brother's political career, determines to let Douglas die and swears Paul to silence. At the last minute, the warden weakens and orders Douglas' release. Paul commits suicide rather than face his father. Douglas and Pat are reunited.
