Synopsis

After 4 years of wedded bliss at the Austin family estate, Kitty (Lady Catherine) becomes jealous of her husband's ex-flame, Barbara Lacey, who has divorced her American husband and is visiting a neighboring estate with Beaumont Winthrop, an ex-flame of Kitty's. Incensed at Carlisle's attention to Barbara, Kitty leaves home with her baby and later is visited by Beau, who has a short time to live and wishes to declare his love for her. Bidding Kitty goodby late at night, Beau collapses. Kitty then calls a doctor, and a scandal ensues. As a result, Kitty loses custody of her son, and she begins resort-hopping with one man after another. Reading of Carlisle's engagement to Barbara, Kitty returns to England bent on kidnaping her son, but Carlisle finds her hiding in a closet, and they are reconciled.
