Synopsis

While searching for Incan treasure, Mike, an American pilot, crashlands in the upper Amazon region of Brazil. He is rescued from savages by a white girl called Eve, who is worshiped as a goddess by the natives. When news of Mike's adventure reaches a small river port, an unscrupulous American showman, John Burke, sets out to find Eve and add her to his touring sideshow. The news also affects the plans of the villainous Diego, who has been passing off his mistress, Conchita, as the long-lost granddaughter of Colonel Stuart, a famous explorer whose son and grandchild disappeared in the jungle years before. Fearing that Eve may be the granddaughter, Diego also joins in the search. Eventually, when Mike meets Colonel Stuart, he learns that the colonel is penniless and enlists his help in finding the Incan treasure. As all the concerned parties make their way into the jungle, Eve is captured by the savages and threatened with torture because of the help she gave to a white man. Mike rescues her, and together they make their way to the cave where the treasure is hidden, unaware that Diego and Conchita have already been there and set a trap. The trap backfires, kills Diego and Conchita, and buries the treasure. Although Eve is acknowledged as the granddaughter of Colonel Stuart, she is disillusioned by what she has seen of civilization and returns to her jungle home.
