Synopsis

Greenwich Village artist Tyler is unable to respond to the excessive sexual demands of his dominating mistress, Lisa. Frustrated, he turns her out and wanders into some Village bars. He meets Mashiko, a Japanese nightclub singer who takes him to a party in her apartment and gives him LSD. There he is introduced to lesbianism and voyeurism. Still under the influence of the drug, Tyler returns to his apartment, and there a statue of a woman made by his sculptor friend, Stan, seems to come to life and join him in wild lovemaking. Several days later, Lisa visits Tyler's apartment and, in a rage, destroys Tyler's paintings and Stan's sculpture. Stan arrives unexpectedly, sees what Lisa has done, and kills her. Tyler comes home, sees the dead Lisa, flees, and roams the city until he accidentally meets the model Stan used for his female statue. Through the woman, Tyler learns that Stan is a bisexual who cannot cope with his desire to be both male and female. Tyler pulls himself together and embarks on a relationship with the woman. Stan is chased to a dam site and falls to his death.
