Synopsis
Beto, an elderly Indio, is looking after a luxurious empty house in Mexico until it is sold. His contact with the outside world is limited to the visits made by the owner and weekly sessions with Lupe, a prostitute he pays for companionship. For the most part, Beto lives like a recluse. Even a simple visit to the market has become a major ordeal. For Beto, television is the only window into the outside world and that world has become a very scary place for him. But when the house is sold he must leave. Despite his former boss's efforts to find him a new job, Beto fears he can no longer manage to be in the general public.
