Synopsis

Mexico City's vibrant entertainment area, the Zona Rosa, is the backdrop to this documentary about the young men who ply their flesh working at the numerous and quite popular nightclubs. The manager of the establishment is a drag queen who produces lavish shows involving dancing, music and clothes shedding. The dancers are interviewed about their lifestyle and relate their feelings and strategies of being in that business. The film tells Mexico's gay history and the development of a gay culture in Mexico City. The provocative shows delight their audiences, and relatives interviewed are unwilling to pass moral judgment on them. The government, however, is uncomfortable with this form of entertainment, and in the name of "decency", the state prepares its backlash.
