Synopsis

Barney Cook, a bright Bowery youngster, gets a job with a detective agency and is used by his employer in a plan to trap a gang of kidnapers who have abducted the small daughter of the Merediths, an estranged wealthy couple: pretending to be deaf and dumb, Barney deliberately gets himself abducted by the gang. His ruse is later discovered but he gets word to the agency, and the kidnapers are rounded up. Little Peggy Meredith is returned to her parents, who have been brought back together by sharing worry on account of their daughter.
