Synopsis
Manuel (or, Manuela as he prefers) is going through a life crisis. His longtime boyfriend Toño has recently left him and his absence has left Manuela confused and unsure of his future. He takes comfort in his job at a local dance club, where he performs in drag. He also has his friends Coca and Faraona to keep him company in his hour of need. Faraona is a transsexual performer at the club where he works and Coca is his best girlfriend. Coca also has a little problem. She has just discovered that she's pregnant. The father is a military man that she had a brief fling with. She's not sure how to get in touch with him and she's really not sure what she's going to tell her straight-laced conservative parents about the whole thing. But then Coca gets an idea. Can't Manuela revert briefly back to Manuel and pose as her fiancé? That way her parents might not be so angry when they find out about her pregnancy. Manuela is hesitant at first, but agrees to do it for his friend. Now Manuela is going to great lengths to hide his feminine side from Coca's parents, while still trying to hold on to himself. However, when things begin to spin out of control and this comedy of errors starts to include a shotgun wedding, a confused neighbor and several cases of mistaken identity it is up to Manuela to set things straight--in a manner of speaking.
