Synopsis

A woman lawyer who needs five thousand dollars for an operation to save her father's life offers her services to anyone for a year in exchange for the money. A young millionaire who has become drunk and is being framed by a racketeer and his girl friend, is knocked out by the racketeer when the police give chase to their car. The racketeer runs over a man and keeps going, and when the young man regains consciousness, the racketeer pins the murder on him. The young man never realizes he is innocent. The racketeer arranges for the lawyer to marry the young man and provide an alibi, but when the young man loses his fortune, the racketeer exposes him to the police. The young man is indicted for manslaughter, and his wife, the lawyer, acts as his defense at the trial. With the help of a reporter who finds a key witness, the lawyer proves her husband's innocence and the racketeer's guilt. By this time, the young man and the lawyer have fallen in love.

Variety reviewed the film as Drifting, noting that the title was changed from the original release title of Drifting Souls. Variety also incorrectly lists the director as Morris R. Schlank, however, Schlank was a producer for Tower.
