Synopsis
In just one year, Julia loses everything that has made up her life. Her beloved husband leaves, her dog dies, then come the deaths of her mother and, shortly afterwards, her father. While one funeral follows another, Julia's professional career goes through a period of crisis. Julia becomes pregnant by a friend whom everyone suspects of being homosexual. She wants to terminate the pregnancy. At the same time, her brother ruins his family life by leaving his pregnant wife, who subsequently gives birth to a handicapped child. Her older sister drinks too much, and becomes involved with a priest, who leaves the church for her. It seems that the entire world has disintegrated. Still, in all of this, Julia manages to find a real life, a life that was formerly completely unknown to her. She learns to laugh at the strangest things, at sad things sometimes, and in the huge chaos of emotions she finds peace and strength. She also finds pain and the knowledge that one is not always happy, that it only happens sometimes, that there are no clear answers to all questions and that the world is not orderly and simple.
