Synopsis
Set in 1938 in a small village in Sudetenland, centers on the saw mill owner August Habermann. The biggest employer in his village and a respected and rich man, he's married to Jana, a young, beautiful Czech woman who is half Jewish. Although Habermann is not interested in politics or ideology, he and his family will soon be steamrolled by the insanity of war.
