Synopsis

During Christmas season in Rome lawyer Fontana visits Belli, an unscrupulous police detective, and requests that the lawman investigate Romani, an associate of his son Mino and head of Embassy Records, a firm in which the attorney's wife, Vera, is planning to invest. The lawyer also asks Belli to arrange the deportation of English model Sandy Bronson, his son's paramour. When the detective arrives at Romani's apartment he finds the entrepreneur dead. The mutilated photograph of a nude woman suggests a female assassin, and Romani's role as a blackmailer is revealed. Belli, however, is unable to prevent further murders, including that of Mino, who is killed in a brawl with a photographer, and of Sandy. The woman in the photograph is identified as pop singer and drug addict Emmanuelle, and Romani is linked to the world of narcotics traffic. Accompanied by Fontana, Belli confronts the murderess, Vera, who shoots both her husband and the detective.
