Synopsis

Juanita Morgan's life of drudgery (renting beach umbrellas for her uncle, Mr. Morgan) is brightened when she meets Capt. Pedro Real during one of his visits to her southern California town. They fall in love, but Juanita refuses to marry Pedro until he quits his successful rumrunning business. Promising to go straight after one more trip, Pedro persuades Juanita to give a warning light should she see Captain Nelson, the government agent and Pedro's friend. Morgan discovers the plan and prevents Juanita from signaling Nelson's presence to Pedro, but she persuades Mike to hijack Pedro's boat. Nelson finds Mike in possession of the rum boat outside the 12-mile limit.
