Synopsis
Dick Barton, a fisherman off Santa Catalina Island, plans to join high society. Bull Evans, another fisherman, bets Dick that he cannot even manage to get his picture taken with people in society. Dick meets and becomes friendly with the Van Lanes, Murray, a wealthy fish canner from Kansas City and his daughter Helen. When he learns that a gang plans to kidnap Helen, he rescues her, and it seems that he will become a member of high society after all.
