Synopsis
The newlywed bliss of Jim and Rose Powell begins to disintegrate with the arrival of their daughter, Ruth, and Rose's increasing concentration on motherhood leaves Jim susceptible to the charms of lovely Nita Meredith. Their chance meeting develops into a love affair, and Rose is unable to reach Jim on the night that Ruth falls ill and dies. Following the advice of Jim's sister, Madge, who has confronted them with their responsibilities, Nita accepts the inevitable, and Jim asks Rose's forgiveness.
