Synopsis

In the Austrian countryside, young composer Lewis Dodd visits the reclusive composer Albert Sanger and his daughters. One of the daughters, Tessa, falls in love with Lewis, but he breaks her heart by marrying his English cousin, Florence Churchill, and moving to London. Tessa moves to London as well, and when Lewis reads in her diary that she loves him, he confesses his love as well, and the couple runs away to Brussels, where the gravely ill Tessa dies of a vascular lesion of the heart.
