Synopsis

Jacob Van Eeden, a financial magnate, has made some bad investments and finds it necessary to use fake bonds in order to put over a huge deal. On a ferry crossing the English Channel, his secretary Marion Slade's jealous fiancé, Peter Bradley, finds out about the deal and threatens to expose Jacob. The magnate then pushes him overboard, only to learn that Marion had Peter use his influence to save him. When Marion learns the truth of Peter's death, the disgraced Jacob commits suicide.
