Synopsis

John Reynolds, owner of the Crazy R Ranch, gives extra money to Slim Grayson, a hand who is leaving to start his own ranch with his sister Nancy. Later, Nancy's horse bolts and she is rescued by John's son Tom, who has been accused of murdering the sheriff. Slim, who was wounded in the accident, is taken into the nearby town of Red Rock, where he is cared for by Doc Connors. Ed Munro has taken over as sheriff, but he is actually a crook. Munro and his henchman, Burke, together with Steve, John's other son, hold Tom's old gun as evidence that he murdered the sheriff. After Tom visits his father, who still believes in his favorite son's innocence, he and the Crazy R ranch hands prevent Munro's gang from rustling their cattle, and some of Munro's men are captured and held prisoner. Tom catches up with Steve and learns that he is being blackmailed by Munro, who has convinced Steve that he actually killed the sheriff. Tom steals the bullet, and finds that it matches another discharged from Munro's gun. Later, one of the rustlers Tom captured escapes and warns Munro that Steve plans to turn state's evidence in court. Tom is placed on trial for the sheriff's murder, with Munro prosecuting and Burke appearing as the witness identifying Tom. The judge refuses to allow Tom to compare the two bullets, and the jury brings in a verdict of guilty. Then Steve abruptly enters the courtroom, having been ambushed the night before in an attempt to prevent him from testifying. He reveals that the sheriff was killed in a robbery that Munro had forced him to participate in to repay some gambling debts. With the two bullets proving Steve's story, Munro is killed in a courtroom shootout. Tom kisses Nancy as all depart happily.
