Synopsis
Caryl Foray discovers that her boss, Enos Colvin, is planning to embezzle funds from the firm and steals the securities herself, then sends them to her uncle, Jean Foray, a fur trapper in Canada. Colvin arrives at Jean's cabin to retrieve the securities, and when Jean resists him, Colvin kills him. In an attempt to shield his master, Jean's dog Rinty takes a bullet in the leg as Colvin escapes in his car without the bonds, which Jean hid. Now only Rinty knows where they are hidden. Badly hurt, Rinty limps to the Mounties' barracks to summon Sergeant Brad Sheridan, who has received orders to arrest Caryl on charges of embezzlement. Sheridan does not arrest Caryl, but she remains in danger as long as the bonds are missing. Back in the city, Caryl hires detectives to track Colvin, whom she believes has the bonds. Rinty recovers and leads Sheridan to the bonds. At the barracks, Colvin is about to recover the bonds from Mountie inspector Bradshaw when Sheridan matches his car's tread marks with those leading up to Jean's cabin. Caryl then arrives with the city detectives, and Colvin escapes into the forest but is followed by the police. Rinty lunges at Colvin's horse, sending Colvin to the ground, and pins him down until Sheridan arrives and apprehends him. Sheridan then wins both Caryl and Rinty.

Notes
This film's preview running time was 68 minutes. In the press synopsis, Jean Foray is described as Caryl's uncle, but the Hollywood Reporter review says that he is her father. The 1935 Ambassador film Trails of the Wild is also based on James Oliver Curwood's story "Caryl of the Mountains," but has a different plot from this film .
