Synopsis
Bert Handy sets up an employment agency called "Helping Hands, Ltd." He hires refugees from the Labour Exchange Staff to do odd jobs: Francis Courtenay walks a chimpanzee around London; Gabriel Dimple substitutes as a bouncer at a bar; Lily Duveen demonstrates bubble bath; Delia King models underwear; and Sam Twist demonstrates the bed of the century. They all mismanage one unusual job after another. Stanley Unwin, the landlord, tries to remove them from the premises by raising their rent, but all agree to accept Unwin's offer to clean up an old house in return for a 99-year lease on the agency's property. As a result of their bungling, however, Unwin must demolish the property and erect a new structure. Handy and his crew carry on with their work as usual.
