Synopsis

Typewriter salesman Clarence Kendall takes a train for a small town and is forced to change clothes with The Carnation Kid, a gangster on the way to the same town to rub out Crawford Whitely, a crusading district attorney. Arriving at the station, Clarence is mistaken for The Carnation Kid and installed in a swank hotel suite by the local bootleggers. Clarence manages to save Whitely's life, however, and marries his daughter, Doris. The Carnation Kid ends up behind bars.
