Synopsis

Carmen, a cafe waitress who engages in prostitution, seduces a young policeman in order to escape a knifing charge. He serves a short prison term for his professional lapse, and afterwards Carmen accepts him as her lover, although she continues to have affairs with other men. When the policeman discovers Carmen with his superior, he becomes enraged and kills his rival. Now a fugitive, the policeman flees with Carmen to a villa where they join another couple in smuggling and in blackmailing tourists searching for sexual diversion. While at a gambling casino, Carmen picks up Medico, the head of the state parole board, and accompanies him to his home for a sexual threesome with the maid, who turns out to be Medico's wife. In return, Medico later arranges for the release of Carmen's imprisoned husband. The final blow to the policeman's pride comes when Carmen deserts him in favor of a popular rock and roll singer, Baby Lucas. Beside himself with jealousy, the policeman picks an argument with the ex-convict husband and kills him. He then follows Carmen and Baby Lucas to the night club where the latter is performing. He forces Carmen to step outside with him, quarrels with her in the city square, and stabs her to death.
