Synopsis

Cameo Kirby, an honest riverboat gambler who works the Mississippi, rescues a girl from a gang of ruffians in New Orleans, but she disappears after he sings her a love song. He later joins up with Moreau, a rival gambler, who is scheming to fleece a cotton planter of his year's receipts. Kirby wins the deed to the planter's property, but the planter kills himself before Kirby can return it. He discovers the planter's daughter to be Adele, the same girl he rescued, but Moreau has previously poisoned her against him. The townspeople threaten to lynch Kirby when he kills Moreau in a duel, but he is exonerated when he produces the deed to the property and wins over the girl.
