Synopsis
Ann Bradford, owner of the Circle C Ranch, discusses her financial troubles with her lawyer, the unscrupulous Matt Stark, who secretly intends to foreclose on her ranch. Ann agrees to Stark's suggestion that she hold a public auction to sell half of her ranch, but Stark packs the crowd with his henchmen, who threaten anyone who plans to bid. Stark's men succeed in intimidating all but Clint Buckley, a newcomer in town, who makes a bid for the ranch. A fistfight results when Clint ignores threats made by two of Stark's henchmen and Clint is the victor. Ann takes pleasure in sharing ownership of the ranch with Clint, but Stark, who is planning to hand over a number of ill-gotten properties to a crime syndicate, sees her ranch as the only obstacle to completing the deal. Some of Stark's men go to Ann's to be there when Clint hands over his check, and as soon as he does, a fight ensues and one of Stark's men steals the check. Clint follows Stark's men back into town, where he engages them in a number of fights. Once all of the henchmen are either killed or captured, preparations are made to turn over the ranches to their rightful owners. Having routed Stark and closed down his operation, Clint and Ann look forward to a future together as husband and wife.

Notes
A working title for this film was Outlaws of the Big Bend. According to contemporary news items, J. Benton Cheney sold an original story entitled "Outlaws of Big Bend" to Columbia and was assigned to work on the screenplay. Cheney is not credited as a contributing writer by reviews or Screen Achievements Bulletin, however, and it is possible that Columbia decided to use only Cheney's title.
