Synopsis

Orphaned twins are adopted in infancy, one by a washerwoman, the other by a wealthy attorney, and they grow to manhood unaware of their relationship. Eddie becomes a piano player in the backroom of Oily Joe's saloon, while Bob Naughton becomes a brilliant attorney though addicted to drink. Bob is engaged to marry Norma, daughter of the orphanage supervisor, but is also involved with the wife of a criminal whom he defended; in an altercation with the husband, Bob kills the husband in a room at Oily Joe's. Because of his physical resemblance, Eddie is accused of the crime, but Bob clears his brother, then suffers a mental collapse and is taken to a sanitarium. Eddie is asked by Colonel Naughton to impersonate Bob in the household so that Mrs. Naughton will not know of his condition. While doing so he falls in love with Norma; he decides to leave, but learning of Bob's death, he remains and declares his love to the girl.
