Synopsis

When his vaudeville revue goes broke in a tank town, song-and-dance man Ted Howard spends his last cent to send his girls back to New York, while Mary, who loves him, remains and suggests they finance a new act with her savings. Established in an actors' boardinghouse in New York, Ted and Mary get only small town bookings. Then Ted, invited by Jack Lane to sing over the radio, meets musical star Valeska, who decides to make him her leading man. Mary overhears him refuse her offer, decides to leave the act, and joins the chorus of Valeska's show. Through Ted's influence, Mary scores a hit in an impersonation number, arousing Valeska's jealousy. When she has Mary discharged, Ted follows and reorganizes the old act.
