Synopsis
Jacko Thomas, an escaped convict, hides out at a country inn owned by Judd Tredgar, a smuggler who is arranging for Jacko's getaway. Also at the inn are the convict's sister, Sue; a novelist, Greg Parker; and Pearson, a private detective trying to get information about Parker for use by Parker's wife in a divorce suit. Jacko murders Pearson when Pearson discovers Tredgar's smuggling activities, and Jacko also kills one of the inn's servants, Moses, when Moses pleads for permission to take Pearson's body to a church. Sarah, the servant's mute sister, retaliates by killing Jacko.
