Synopsis
A gang of beatniks who deal dope are led by psychopath Nico and his partner Francis. One evening they give a messenger boy a hamburger containing ground glass just for the "kick" of watching him die. The victim's brother, Cliff Bowers, is told by the police that they have been unable to solve the murder, so Bowers conducts his own investigation. At Nico's hangout, he meets Ellie, a young woman who tells him about Nico and his gang. Two of Nico's henchmen, Studs and Weasel, learn of Bowers' search and beat him up, but afterwards they are betrayed by Nico in a drug transaction and are themselves attacked. Ellie has now fallen in love with Bowers and helps him set a trap for Nico at the hangout. As the police arrive, Nico flees but is killed by his betrayed henchmen. Francis confesses to the police and is arrested.
