Synopsis
Enduring the bleakness of the Watts unemployment office and occasional stints as a day laborer, Charlie Banks struggles to find a job and maintain his role of head of his family. Spending most of the day at home, Charlie often gets on the nerves of his wife and three children. One evening while getting some fresh air, he makes the acquaintance of a welfare mother.
