The film was originally shot in 16mm for a cost of about $10,000. After being shown at the IFP Market as a "work-in-progress," the budget was raised and the film produced under the auspices of the film department at Harvard University. After extensive post-production work, the film was blown up to 35mm. The final budget by this stage was approximately $100,000.
