Synopsis

Samuel Locke, a businessman, promises to give his daughter, Miriam, in marriage to Freddie Farrell if he will fulfill his promise to make the Locke mansion, an aging estate in the middle of a swamp, into a profitable investment. Farrell turns the place into a high-priced hotel and revives the legend that there is buried treasure on the property. Finally, he relaxes and watches the guests tear the place apart. An explosion set by one of the visitors lifts the roof off the mansion, revealing the "treasure" (a box of jewels hidden for safekeeping by a burglar). The explosion and the continual digging around the place cause the ocean to enter and create valuable shoreline property out of the Locke estate.
