Synopsis
At the time of the Napoleonic invasion of Russia, the pompous Lieut. Dmitriy Rzhevskiy is affianced to Shura, niece of retired Major Azarov. In order to deflate Rzhevskiy's ego, Shura disguises herself as a hussar and joins the Russian army. She maintains her disguise and impresses her companions with her heroic deeds. Captured during a daring raid against the French, she is rescued by Dmitriy, who finally discovers her identity.
