Synopsis
Nokiro's teenage daughter has killed one of her classmates. A man named Junichi is the father of the girl who was killed. One year later, in a small industrial town, Junichi is now shuttling between his lodgings and his job at a foundry. Every day he sees Noriko who works as a cook at the inn. They never speak or exchange looks but they do recognize one another. Each remains isolated in their own world--they have given up on life due to their shared painful past. Suddenly, Junichi decides to buy Noriko a present. A relationship slowly develops between them. Gradually, they emerge from their grief, regaining a taste for life again.
