U.S. completion bond guarantor Film Finances Inc. halted principal photography in mid-June 1991 due to director Emir Kusturica's collapse from nervous exhaustion. Prior to being put "on hold," the wrap date was scheduled for mid-July 1991. Principal photography resumed September 16, 1991.
