Synopsis

Showgirl Pansy Gray, who ekes out an existence with the help of Dot, another chorus girl, is aided by lawyer Gustav Saxon when she is arrested for indecent exposure and is defended by attorney Neil Dunlap. Later, Dunlap's wife deserts him for another man, and he goes on a prolonged drinking binge. At the apartment of his friend Eddie Calcio they see Pansy and Dot, en déshabillé , across the courtyard, and invite them over for a party. Not remembering her, Neil perceives in Pansy a wistful charm, and the next morning he awakens to find they were married the night before; resigned to the situation, he allows her to live with him. His business friends desert him, and he continues drinking heavily; under Pansy's care he is again successful, but when Saxon tries to seduce her and she resists, Neil is indignant at her offending his client. She leaves him and goes away with Saxon, but eventually she returns to Neil and their mutual love is reaffirmed.
