Synopsis
After killing three western bandits in order to collect the reward money on their heads, a bounty hunter decides his next quarry will be the notorious bandito, Monetero. During an attack on a train carrying a safe containing gold from the Southern Bank, Monetero is betrayed by his deputy, Pajondo, who makes off with the loot. Although Monetero tracks him down, Pajondo is killed by an Army sergeant, and Monetero himself is taken prisoner. Before he can be executed, he is rescued by the bounty hunter, who knows that before Pajondo died he gave Monetero a gold medallion, the clue to the treasure's whereabouts. Unfortunately for the two men, the coin has been divided and the other half has fallen into the hands of Clayton, a young Southern Bank official who was also implicated in the train robbery. For a time the three would-be thieves pair off in different partnerships designed to cheat the third party out of a share of the gold. But eventually they all arrive at the hacienda where the cache of gold is hidden. They battle with each other until Backman, an insurance agent, arrives and takes possession of the sacks of gold. As he rides off, however, it is revealed that the sacks contain nothing more than rocks and sand--the gold is still hidden in the pipes of an old church organ. When Monetero's gang show up, they are shot down by the now unified threesome who proceed to shoot holes in the organ pipes and divide the gold.
